BACKGROUND
Treasured Vessels Girls’ Centre is a fully registered non-governmental (charitable) community based organization (CBO) in Eastern Uganda, Jinja District, founded in 2018 by Madam Racheal Muggaga Achen. This CBO reaches out to vulnerable women and girls who are left without adequate care and support due to: the deaths of HIV/AIDS affected persons; remarriage of deserted, widowed, or divorced women; absence of love
and security in the families; family disputes; and/or unwanted pregnancy of trafficked or sexually exploited girls.
Through different activities focused on empowering women and girls, Treasured Vessels reaches out in schools, institutions, and youth programs with training in practical skills. In these activities, we work at grass root level with communities to reach and support victims of GBV (Gender Based Violence), to rehabilitate and to address community health challenges by creating awareness.
